8 Floors, 15 Homes, 3 Incredible Property Managers – When Disaster Struck, Our Team Stepped Up

By Hannah Williams

Earlier this year, an eight-storey apartment building in Auckland was hit by a catastrophic flood.
Water poured from the top floor, damaging every apartment below and leaving the entire building uninhabitable.

We managed 15 of the affected apartments – all cared for by three of our incredible team members: Jacqui Kendall, Gabrielle Dally, and Viv Lum.
Despite already carrying full portfolios, they rose to the challenge without hesitation.

On the Ground When It Mattered Most

With tenants given just minutes to collect what they could, Jacqui, Gabby, and Viv were onsite – climbing up and down eight flights of stairs under strict Body Corporate access rules.

They:

  • Helped tenants salvage belongings
  • Arranged emergency accommodation
  • Offered calm, compassionate support in the midst of chaos

Rehousing & Recovery

Thanks to their quick thinking and care, several tenants were rehoused into other rentals with us.
They also worked closely with affected owners – helping them navigate complex insurance and Body Corporate claims while ensuring clear, empathetic communication throughout.

More Than Property Management

This was property management at its very best – not just solving problems, but truly looking after people when it matters most.

We’re incredibly proud of Jacqui, Gabby, and Viv for the dedication, empathy, and professionalism they showed in such a challenging situation.
